THE POST-HUMAN
a stage terror-regime
2009
January 21 - February 14 at Teater Camp X Aveny in Copenhagen.

Hoping for a new human being
The wish has always existed – the hope for a new human being. We have always been captivated by the dream of removing all of the mediocrity, idiocy, meaninglessness, the foibles and flaws from the otherwise pristine spiral of DNA. From Plato to transhumanism. But how will the new human being look? Will it be taller, stronger, and more beautiful than us? Will it be free from all our hopes and dreams of self realization, our self-satisfaction and hate?

BØRSEN roadshow
video, music and dance performance
Copenhagen, 2004

Thomas Eisenhardt, Ann Crosset, Erik Pold, Thomas Sandberg and Helle Lyshøj are experts in new perspectives. With their surprising stand-up dance they give a immediately contribution to the Danish creative industries economy, and turn upside down on any 'the who-do-you-think-you-are' mentality in what is possible or not.
'Børsen Roadshow' is innovative knowledge sharing with an audience in a satirical stageshow. About a present where everything is a part of the market economy, about the challenges and costs related to it.

HelleVision.net
videoinstallation and web project
2004

Hellevision, the network with a mission.
In Italy Berlusconi were in charge of both the presidency AND the media in Italy. And as a real puppeteer he once tried to cast Gerald Schröder for a motion picture. That seems an inspiring idea; bring art into politics!
Hellevision is an alternative to the so-called free press. We don't claim to tell a truth but visualise issues that we find worthwhile discussing and we do expose fear by exaggeration and by twisting the facts.

Hellevision 1st edition is based on ideas of conspiracies. It is online at
www.hellevision.net. It was first presented at the ‘Op Schoot’ Filmfestival 2004 in Maastricht. On this event ‘experts’, who were situated on different locations in Europe were on-line with a webcam to participate in a 'live' discussion.

Hellevision 2nd edition is even more personalized politics.
It is 20 minutes news programme with some commercials for non-products in between. Hellevision 2nd edition was presented at Kunstvlaai 5 in Amsterdam 2004.

The collaborators are:
Helle Lyshøj: concept and visuals.
Henrique Neves: performer and writer.
Mandra Wabäck: scriptwriter and reporter.
Laurens van der Heijden: historican and writer.

Mozart Effect in Mannheim
Video and music installation in public spaces
Mannheim, 2002

Mannheim becomes the scene of a large-scale field test of the 'Mozart Effect'. During the 2nd Mannheimer Mozart Week in Nationaltheater Mannheim a group of artists exposes Mannheim to the music of Mozart. The artists want to find out whether the music of Mozart increases 'the productivity and quality of life in the city'.
Earlier studies had shown results that to the music of Mozart children learn faster, cows give more milk and plants flourish. In Mannheim the tunes of Mozart ring out in the supermarket, in the swimming facility, enterprises and business.
The attempt can be observed during the Mozart Week in the entrance hall of Nationaltheater Mannheim as avideo installation.

'Ideenwerk Innenstadt' is a collaboration between:
Geza Heselman, Helle Lyshøj and Tilmann Meyer-Faje
Co-produced by: Nationaltheater Mannheim

VodkaKafé
video installation, 1 hour loop
2001

VodkaKafé is an real-time slow-motion experiment. On one wall is a life-size projection of people in a café acting in extreme slowmotion. While slowing down their acts they expose their undirected attempts between thought and movement. It becomes a visualisation of a thought before it is formulated.
The installation space is a continuation of the projected space, so the viewer stands in an eviroment where the time almost stopped.

A collaboration between:

Helle Lyshøj and Susan Lekås
